Arsene Wenger has ruled out selling Alexis Sanchez or Mesut Ozil in January, subject to what he says would be an “unbelievable” change of circumstance.
“As long as they are here they give their best for the club”.
Both Sanchez and Ozil are free to negotiate with new clubs in January as their Arsenal contracts expire in June.
“I will meet him for the first time”, Wagner said.
Manchester United have been linked with a controversial move to sign Ozil after the German star worked with Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho for three seasons at Real Madrid.
Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s game with Huddersfield Town, Wenger was asked whether he thought both would still be at the club when the January transfer window closes.
However, the Gunners have won their last 11 games at the Emirates Stadium – their longest run of successive Premier League wins since leaving Highbury.
That is according to Arsene Wenger, who told the press assembled at his pre-match Huddersfield Town media briefing (via football.london) that he expected the two contract rebels to still be with Arsenal next February.
“If I think it’s in his best interest to stay here, I will fight 100 per cent for that”. “Especially in their first season, promoted teams have that kind of fighting spirit that makes them risky to any team they come up against”.
“If it’s up to me then, yes, they stay next season”.
“When you have a top-quality player you want them to stay”.
Wilshere is in the final year of his current contract, but has been reassured by manager Wenger that he is likely to get more action if he remains patient. That’s impossible to answer’. “They have a part to play in that as well but, if it is my decision, yes”.
“Mesut Ozil on a free to Manchester United on a free looks a shoo-in”.
